What are the tarpaulin materials for inflatable castles?

The tarpaulin material of the inflatable castle directly determines its wear resistance, tear resistance and service life. Currently, the mainstream materials are mainly PVC, supplemented by some composite materials of nylon cloth + PVC coating. The specific classification and characteristics are as follows:

PVC mesh cloth (most commonly used)

This is the core tarpaulin material of the inflatable castle. It is composed of PVC film and polyester fiber mesh. The fiber mesh serves as a skeleton to improve tensile resistance, and the PVC coating provides waterproof and wear-resistant properties.

Subdivision specifications: According to thickness, it can be divided into 0.45mm, 0.55mm, 0.6mm, 0.9mm, etc. The thicker the thickness, the stronger the load-bearing and tear resistance. Children's inflatable castles commonly use 0.45-0.55mm, and adult or large outdoor models use 0.6-0.9mm.

Advantages: good waterproof, wear-resistant and tear-resistant, easy to clean, affordable, suitable for long-term outdoor use.

Disadvantages: In low temperature environment (below - 5℃), it will become hard and brittle, its flexibility will decrease, and it will easily crack.

PVC scraper cloth (high-end model)

It is an upgraded version of PVC sandwich cloth. The production process is scraper coating. The PVC coating is more uniform, the thickness error is small, and the fiber mesh has a higher weaving density.

Advantages: The tear resistance is more than 30% higher than ordinary PVC mesh cloth, and it has stronger weather resistance, high temperature resistance, and UV aging resistance. It is suitable for high-frequency use scenarios such as large inflatable castles and water inflatable parks.

Disadvantages: The price is high and the weight is slightly heavy.

Nylon cloth + PVC coating (lightweight version)

It is based on nylon fiber cloth and coated with PVC layer. It is lighter and more flexible than PVC mesh cloth.

Advantages: Strong portability, not easily brittle in low temperature environments, suitable for small household inflatable castles or temporary activities.

Disadvantages: The wear resistance and tear resistance are not as good as PVC mesh cloth, and it is prone to wear and tear after long-term outdoor use.

Oxford cloth + PVC coating (niche style)

The base is Oxford cloth and the coating is PVC, which is light and thin in texture and low in cost.

Advantages: Inexpensive, inflatable castle suitable for one-time events or short-term use.

Disadvantages: poor tensile resistance, easy to deform, short service life.
